Types of Bathtub Liners
If your bathtub has seen better days—especially if those days were in the 1960’s—it’s time for an upgrade. However, you don’t have to endure weeks of construction or spend a small fortune on tub replacement when you opt instead for a bathtub liner. This cost-effective solution is custom-made to the exact dimensions of your bathtub, and installed over the existing structure to give your bath a sparkling new façade at a fraction of the price of a full replacement.
There are three main types of bathtub liners:
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
PVC bathtub liners are usually the most affordable option. They are crafted from a flexible plastic material and are more vulnerable to cracking than other types of liners.
Solid surface polymer
Solid surface polymer bathtub liners are more durable than their PVC countertops. They are made from a blend of alumina trihydrate (ATH), polymer resins, and other materials.
Acrylic
The most widely used type of bathtub liner, acrylic is a tough, firm plastic material that is less likely to chip or crack than other substances.
Here at BathWraps, we choose to manufacture and install acrylic bathtub liners thanks to their superior durability. However, we don’t simply use standard acrylic—we fabricate our bathtub and shower liners from premium-quality acrylic that:
